21 Sec To Save Humanity

I did a spread and a spot for Teaching Tolerance Magazine 2009 Spring Issue. The article was about school bullying and how one bold teacher looks past NCLB to a higher set of standards- compassion, empathy and justice. I love the challenge of coming up with concepts for editorials… so I’m grateful that the AD gave me full creative freedom with this project.

Here’s the magazine scans:

Holy, nice job! I love the background in the spot…with the tiling, it really gives the piece movement and a lot of interest. I love the concepts too!

Really nice work, Christina. It looks like you’re influenced by Chinese brush painting. The line drawings have that kind of fluent style. Just a very beautiful mixture of tradition and high-tech with a lot of talent.

    Congrats! Kai

These are really scary, but apt. The first sets up that sense of dread during the wait time between bullying. The second is amazing in its ability to show a before and after in one frame. Wow!!
