50 Shades Of Grey Illustration for Businessweek

50 Shades Of Grey Illustration for BusinessweekChristina Ung 50 Shades of Grey Illustation

I’m sure all the Ladies have already read or heard of the Fifty Shades Trilogy by E L James somewhere. In May, Businessweek Magazine contacted me to illustrate for an article which was about the success of the erotic novel and how this book has stimulated the sales of entry level S+M toys, which are up from last year something like 20-30% in some places. At the time when I received the project, I knew little about the novel and less about S+M toys. I did my research of course and boy, was I in for a treat…

So, here were my initial sketches:

It was an enjoyable read. Wasn’t a huge fan of the writing but the story was very playful and interesting. Give it a shot ;)
